Terms of Use

1. Scope

These Terms apply to all matters between the Developer and you regarding the use of the App. These Terms apply together with Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

2. License

The Developer grants you a non-transferable right to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control. You are free to use the videos you make with the App, for both personal and commercial purposes.

3. Price and purchases

• The App is free to download, and all editing features are free to use.
• In the free version, a “Made with Maikan” logo is added to exported videos. After an in-app purchase (a one-time purchase), the logo is no longer added.
• Purchases are made through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. Payments and refunds are handled through Apple's procedures.
• Purchases support Family Sharing. With the same Apple Account, you can restore your purchase on other devices.
• The logo is not removed from videos exported before the purchase. Please export them again after purchasing.

4. Your content

The rights to the videos, photos, audio, text, and other media you use in the App, and to the videos you create, belong to you (or their rightful owners). The Developer does not receive or use any of them.

You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the media and music you use, and for respecting the privacy and likeness of the people who appear in your videos.

5. Bundled materials

The fonts and sticker artwork bundled with the App are provided under their respective licenses (such as the SIL Open Font License and the Apache License). See “Licenses” in the App's settings for details.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

• Use the App for any purpose that violates laws or public order and morals
• Create or publish videos that infringe others' copyrights, portrait rights, privacy, or other rights
• Analyze, modify, or redistribute the App beyond what is permitted by law
• Interfere with the provision of the App

7. Data storage

Your projects and media are stored only on your device, and the Developer keeps no copies. Please back up important data yourself.

8. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

• The App is provided “as is.” The Developer does not warrant that the App is free of defects or fit for any particular purpose.
• Except in cases of the Developer's willful misconduct or gross negligence, the Developer is not liable for any damage arising from your use of the App, including loss of data.
• Even where the Developer is liable for damages, the amount is limited to the amount you paid for the App, except in cases of the Developer's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

9. Changes to and discontinuation of the App

The Developer may change the App or stop providing it without prior notice to you.

10. Changes to these Terms

The Developer may change these Terms as needed. The revised Terms take effect when posted on this page.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The district court with jurisdiction over the Developer's place of residence has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute relating to the App. However, these Terms do not limit any rights granted to you as a consumer by the laws of the country where you live.
